§ Identify sources of emotional & spiritual pain in the sick or dying and their family members
§ Skillfully intervene when communication is blocked

Instructors: Lynn Biot-Gordon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree. She maintains a private practice and is a consultant for long term care facilities which includes in-services on a variety of topics for residents, families, and health care staff. She is the founder of Gordon Social Work Consultants.

Sandra Stimson is a Certified Activity Director and a Certified Assisted Living Administrator. In addition to serving as an Activity Director, Assistant Administrator, and Director of Alzheimer's Units in LTC and residential facilities, she also facilitates support groups for caregivers. She is co-founder of Pet Express Pet Therapy Program and Alternative Solutions in Long Term Care.
